PlatON, initiated and driven by the LatticeX Foundation, is a next-generation Internet infrastructure protocol based on the fundamental properties of blockchain and supported by the privacy-preserving computation network. “Computing interoperability” is its core feature. By building a computing system assembled by Verifiable Computation, Secure Multi-Party Computation, Zero-Knowledge Proof, Homomorphic Encryption and other cryptographic algorithms and blockchain technology, PlatON provides a public infrastructure in open source architecture for global artificial intelligence, distributed application developers, data providers and various organizations, communities and individuals with computing needs.
01 — Technological Progress
(1) PlattON 1.3.0 has been developed, and the internal functionality verification test, parallel testnet verification, and version release have been completed. The mainnet upgrade plan has been submitted, and community node voting is in progress. It now supports delegated locking; the double ChainID proposal Phase 2.5 (EVM returns the new ChainID) has been implemented;
(2) Technological analysis of all EIPs that require forking for Ethereum’s Berlin and London upgrades;
(3) ATON1.1.9v: The delegated locking has been developed, and it is ready to be launched;
(4) ATON2.0v: The refactored version enables DAPP. Product and architecture design has been completed. The development progress has reached 5%, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2022;
(5) A new version of PlatScan that supports delegated locking has been developed and it will be launched in the second half of this month.
The testing of Ledger version 2.0 has been completed; the updated version, which mainly features functions like delegation and staking, is already listed (the developer model).
Privacy-preserving Computation Network (datum-network)
The internal test of datum 0.5.1 has been completed; Optimization: 1) The RPC interface now features public/private usage; 2) New workflow messages have been added.
Privacy-preserving AI Computation Platform (datum-platform)
The development progress of datum-platform 0.5.1 has reached 100%, and the test has been completed.
02 — PlatON News
[PlatON 1.3.0 Upgrade Proposal Announced and Governance Upgrade Voting to Be Started on October 25]
PlatON has announced the proposal for the mainnet upgrade to v1.3.0. Governance voting is expected to start on October 25, 2022. The new version includes: 1) The delegated tokens to be unbound will be locked for 7 days; 2) Chain ID change proposal PIP-7 goes through the last stage. The chain ID obtained by the contract with the chainid instruction or directly using the Block.chainid instruction will no longer be 100, but a new value 210425.
[PlatON Validator Incentive Program Phase I Announced]
The evaluation of PlatON Validator Incentive Program Phase I has been completed, and the details of the winning validators and their rewards have been announced on the official forum. The rewards will be linearly released to the staking account of the said validators in 3 months.
PlatON Validator Incentive Program Phase II has officially kicked off. The evaluation period starts from October 1, 2022, and ends on December 31, 2022. The evaluation will be based on the validator’s contribution to the PlatON mainnet and node reliability and stability. Eligible validators will be rewarded for their cumulative contributions and long-term stability, especially nodes that produce more blocks, stake more cryptos, and run stably for longer.
[PlatON Network Started On-chain Governance Upgrade Voting for the PIP-10 Proposal ]
The PlatON network started on-chain governance upgrade voting for the PIP-10 proposal on October 25. The governance voting of the proposal, which proposes to upgrade the network to version 1.3.0, will last about 15 days. The new version will feature the following upgrades: 1) De-delegated tokens will be locked for 56 epochs; 2) Stage III of the PIP-7 proposal for supporting double ChainIDs will be implemented (EVM returns the new ChainID).
03 — Ecosystem Collaboration
ATON wallet already supports transfer via HashKeyDID
Reverse DNS (rDNS), powered by the ATON wallet, enables decentralized applications (DApps) to map users’ Web3 addresses into a readable and memorable address or avatar. Transfer via hashkeyDID, instead of a 64-bit address, is supported.
04 — Community Activity
To thank the community’s support all the way, PlatON has launched a giveaway campaign to celebrate its 100,000 Twitter followers
PlatON and BitMart have cosponsored the HappyFriday Giveaway campaign to celebrate the Halloween
