Epic Games CEO: Apple must stop charging 30% commission on NFT transactions

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said in a social media post on Sept. 27 that Apple is killing all untaxable NFT app business and destroying another emerging technology that could compete with its overpriced in-app payment service. Apple must stop continuing to do this. As previously reported, Apple charges a standard commission of up to 30 percent on all NFT transactions through the iOS app.

California Requires NEXO to Stop Offering Revenue-Based Products

Golden Finance reports that the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation has issued an injunction against crypto lender Nexo’s crypto interest-bearing accounts. The suppression document states that Nexo’s Earn Interest product accounts are securities that “were sold and sold without prior qualification, in violation of California Corporations Code Section 25110. As of July 31, 2022, more than 18,000 California residents had active Earn Interest Product Flexible or Term Accounts; collectively, these accounts held at least $174.8 million in investments.” (the block)
