Report: CBDC will Become one of the Mainstream Global Cross-border Payment Trends

On Feb. 27, Eastern Securities released an in-depth report on the communications industry. According to the latest FSB report information, explore the application of global stablecoins in cross-border payments to improve the status quo of cross-border payments by December 2022. The FSB has also set specific targets: by the end of 2027 it plans to reduce the global average retail payment cost to less than 1% and the full channel payment cost to less than 3%. We believe CBDCs have the technical conditions for cross-border use. In line with other CBDCs, the digital RMB also has the potential to enhance cross-border payment efficiency and reduce cross-border payment costs. Digital RMB has already started to lay out its cross-border payment landscape, and the earliest experimental scenarios for digital RMB cross-border payments are expected to appear in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.
