Cardano founder stands in solidarity with arrested Tornado Cash developer: writing code is just expression, like writing a book

23 August – Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has spoken out in support of the Tornado Cash developers who were recently arrested in the Netherlands. He said that developers can use open source code to write code, but have no control over how people use the code once it is released. In most cases, the code is just words, and it is not up to the writer to tell people to do something. Charles Hoskinson adds that as developers, when we write code, it’s just a form of expression. As long as we’re not involved in running and using the code, we’re just writing it; it’s like writing a book. the Tornado Cash developers are just writing code that is technically usable in a certain way. bitFlyer: will closely monitor every ethereum proof-of-work hard fork

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange bitFlyer has officially stated that they will “closely monitor” any possible hard fork of Ether (ETH) that may occur as a result of the transition from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), as well as every forked Token that continues to rely on PoW, Golden Finance reports. In its latest blog post, BitFlyer did not specify which fork Token it would support, but said it would “depend on the circumstances”. The exchange also added that it would need to get approval from the Japan Virtual Crypto Asset Exchange Association (JVCEA) before processing any new Token for launch. (cryptonews)
