ZK Camp Introduction
PrivacyIN (Privacy Institution), founded by the LatticeX Foundation, strives to build an open community for preaching and studying cryptography and privacy-preserving technologies. The institution works with top scholars and developers who focus on privacy-preserving technologies to promote the innovation and implementation of ZK (Zero-Knowledge Proof), MPC (Multi-Party Computation), and FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption) in the field of Web 3.
To enable the innovation and implementation of privacy preservation in next-gen multi-party computation scenarios, PrivacyIN plans to offer technical training, build a research community, and incubate innovative projects, with a focus on modern cryptography technology. It aims to make it easier for developers to apply theoretical protocols, improve the capacity for innovative engineering among cryptographic researchers, and jointly maintain an open community for cryptography and privacy-preserving technologies.
The first ZK Camp is recruiting participants!
From June 22 to July 6, 2022, users around the world can sign up for PrivacyIN’s first ZK Camp, which is committed to the institution’s original goal of preaching privacy-preserving technologies. The lectures will last from July 8 to August 12 (one lecture per week). No more than 20 students will be accepted for small-class tutoring. The requirements of the students are as follows:
- With at least 10 hours available for the course per week
- Familiar with basic cryptographic protocols, or proficient in programming languages such as Rust, Golang, and Solidity
- Complete preparation tasks before class, including reading classic papers and researching engineering projects
- Submit code assignments after each lesson
- Demonstrate course design and share codes
Having made long-term efforts, we have created developer-friendly lectures that will be offered for free. Students who successfully graduate from the Camp will receive a wide range of incentives from PrivacyIN. The Camp will help each developer master ZK and build his own ZK projects. If your project is deemed promising, PrivacyIN will offer you Prizes and Grants to help it prosper.
Check out the lecture schedule of the Camp!
PrivacyIN’s first developer course on privacy preservation will focus on the introduction to the theoretical development of ZK and the related engineering and development practice. The course covers the following lectures:
- Basics of ZK Cryptography & Research Overview
- Basic Principles of the Classic ZK Protocol (Groth16 Plonk Stark)
- Introduction to the Application of ZK Circuits (L2/ZKEVM, ZK privacy-preserving circuits)
- ZK Hands-on
- Submission and Presentation of Graduation Projects
Lecturers
The first ZK Camp will feature, Dr. Yupeng Zhang, Dr. Siyuan Han, and the senior engineer Kelvin Wong.
Dr. Yupeng Zhang was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley and is now an assistant professor in the Computer Science and Engineering department at Texas A&M University. Dr. Zhang has published many academic papers and is experienced in practical cryptography. He will bring his extensive research experience to the lectures.
Dr. Siyuan Han got his Ph.D. from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include blockchain storage optimization and ZK-based blockchain/data privacy preservation system, etc. Dr. Han will be a lecturer at the ZK Camp.
Kelvin Wong is a senior engineer who focuses on privacy-preserving computation. He contributed to the implementation of Rosetta, a privacy-preserving machine learning platform, as well as the MPC algorithm protocol. With years of practical experience in project development, Mr. Wong will be the teaching assistant for the lectures.
The three lecturers will present practical lectures with rich, hands-on content for all developers who signed up for the Camp.

About LatticeX Foundation
LatticeX Foundation is a global open-source technology community. It aims to build up a completely decentralized computation interoperability network and facilitate the transactions of data use rights under the premise of protecting data sovereignty and privacy, in order to return the data sovereignty to users, protect data privacy, and exchange data value by building up complex computing. To fulfil such visions, LatticeX Foundation subsidizes various academic researches and scientific research projects.
