02 – PlatON News
[PlatON Upgraded to Version 1.4.1, Future Upgrade to Support EIP-1559]
To become more flexible and adapt to the features of Ethereum v1.10.3, PlatON has upgraded to version 1.4.1 and will be ready for EIP-1559 in the next version. Additionally, version 1.4.1 offers support for cross-chain interoperability and optimizes the auditing mechanism for on-chain transaction addresses by removing the stringent validation of prefix formats.
The snapshot performance is a major improvement of Ethereum v1.10.3, which speeds up snapshot generation after synchronization by up to 10 times. As a key Ethereum improvement proposal, EIP-1559 seeks to enhance the transaction fee mechanism, thereby improving the network’s efficiency and security. The PlatON team said that the upgrade aims to keep PlatON compatible and synchronized with Ethereum while preparing for future innovations and expansions.
[PRC-12 Fungible Token Standard Released: Delegated Authorization and Delegated Transfer Supported, Fully Compatible with EIP-20, EIP-3009, and EIP-2612]
Recently, the PlatON community initiated the PIP-12 proposal to introduce PRC-12, a new standard for EVM-compatible fungible tokens (FT). This standard realizes the functions of delegated authorization and delegated transfer for token holders, simplifying the interaction process between users and smart contracts, reducing transaction costs, and enhancing token security and flexibility.
The PRC-12 standard adds more possibilities to the use cases of FTs, including decentralized exchanges (DEX), lending platforms, and NFT marketplaces. It can also support various payment scenarios, such as stablecoin issuance, cross-chain transfers, and lightning networks. User experience has been improved as the standard eliminates the need for pre-authorization, holding ETH, or waiting for confirmations.
